We recognize that GLI has an opportunity to use that collective influence\u00a0to highlight racial issues in Greater Louisville and join the call for accountability and reform.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">GLI strives to be a type of convener that will bring people and stakeholders together in a way that is thoughtful and joins the call for accountability and reform. During this pursuit of justice and healing, the\u00a0<span class=\"markfxib2258h\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">business<\/span>\u00a0community in Greater Louisville must engage and collaborate in meaningful conversations aimed at uncovering the causes of racism and inequities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Now is the time to listen and build a deeper acknowledgement of racial issues and their impact on our marginalized communities. We acknowledge the great pain that is felt\u00a0and the injustices that have led us here. As we find ways to put action behind these words,\u00a0<strong>join us in committing to do your part to highlight the racial issues that hold us back as a city and work toward a\u00a0prosperous Louisville for all by signing\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/airtable.com\/shrkHwmsIxQnaBSKX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" class=\"external\">this pledge<\/a><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">In support of the pursuit of equity, GLI announced that we have established the\u00a0<span class=\"markfxib2258h\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Business<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"markcotl7jd69\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Council<\/span>\u00a0to End Racism to focus on how oppression and injustice impacts marginalized communities. This\u00a0<span class=\"markcotl7jd69\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Council<\/span>\u00a0will help raise up our marginalized community through concerted efforts aimed at:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Building a stronger sense of belonging<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Developing dedicated talent strategies<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Identifying\u00a0<span class=\"markfxib2258h\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">business<\/span>\u00a0advancement opportunities<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Targeting ongoing policy work in relation to public education, workforce development and barriers, health care access, law enforcement and criminal justice reform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>Crystal Peterson<\/strong>, senior vice president, chief diversity inclusion and global community relations officer for Brown-Forman Corp. will co-chair the committee, along with\u00a0<strong>Cynthia Knapek<\/strong>, president of the Leadership Louisville Center, and <strong>Jerilan Greene<\/strong> of Yum! Brands Inc. We\u00a0will be asking many\u00a0<span class=\"markfxib2258h\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">business<\/span>\u00a0leaders and community members to join us in serving this important mission.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The\u00a0<span class=\"markcotl7jd69\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Council<\/span>\u00a0has been divided into five different workstreams, acting together toward the common goal of an equitable\u00a0<span class=\"markfxib2258h\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">business<\/span>\u00a0community.
