The Task Force&#8217;s recommendations laid the groundwork for GLI&#8217;s tax reform platforms, which, in turn, helped shape the tax reform packages passed by the Kentucky General Assembly in recent sessions. This GLI-backed legislation led the <a href=\"https:\/\/taxfoundation.org\/2022-state-business-tax-climate-index\/\" class=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">Tax Foundation<\/a> to move Kentucky\u2019s tax competitiveness ranking from 33rd in the nation to 25th as of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>GLI has continued to lean on the Tax Reform Task Force to guide the organization&#8217;s tax policy principles at the local level and at the state level as the General Assembly embraces the reduction of state personal income tax.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GLI&#8217;s Tax Reform Task Force is made up of tax experts from throughout our region and focuses specifically on tax policy and tax-related issues at the local, state, and federal levels.
