Louisville, Ky.<\/strong> (February 4, 2026) \u2013 Last night, Greater Louisville Inc.\u2019s talent attraction initiative, Live in Lou, celebrated a decade of driving workforce retention and population growth. The event also honored the newly proclaimed \u2018Live in Lou Day\u2019, officially recognized on January 27th<\/sup>, highlighting the campaign\u2019s lasting impact on Louisville as a place where people can thrive.<\/p>\n

\u201cLive in Lou has become one of our region\u2019s most successful talent initiatives, creating a one-stop-shop for meeting employer\u2019s talent needs and executing innovative strategies to grow the working age population,\u201d said Lance Mann, interim president and CEO of GLI. \u201cThis work strengthens Greater Louisville\u2019s ability to attract, retain, and grow jobs by ensuring we have a strong pipeline of talent today and into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

GLI created Live in Lou in 2016 as a storytelling tool for the region\u2019s quality of life assets. Since then, the initiative has grown to reach over 80,000 organic followers across social media. The Live in Lou team connects Greater Louisville with talent across the country through targeted digital marketing while supporting employers with free resources to enhance their hiring success.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile many people know Live in Lou through our social media presence, the impact of this initiative reaches far beyond our digital platforms,\u201d said Haylee McEvoy, GLI\u2019s Director of Digital Engagement and Strategy. \u201cLive in Lou is reshaping how our\u00a0community connects\u00a0with current and prospective residents while showcasing Greater Louisville as a vibrant\u00a0and\u00a0welcoming\u00a0place to live, work, and play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Live in Lou recently relaunched its website<\/a> with an improved local-only job board for employers and job seekers, a community events calendar, and a suite of resources to help newcomers explore Greater Louisville. In addition to these features, Live in Lou includes spin-off programs like City Champs, The Next Gen Lou Intern Summit, partnerships with higher education institutions, private label talent attraction campaigns for employers, and boomerang campaigns to expand the initiative\u2019s reach and impact.<\/p>\n
