Prosper 2030 was created through a months-long process of surveying the Greater Louisville business community on their top concerns and priorities, and long-term vision for the region.<\/p>\n<p>Prosper 2030 outlines several key goals to achieve in the next five years, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating 6,000 new jobs<\/li>\n<li>Advocating for a more competitive tax code<\/li>\n<li>Streamlining Louisville\u2019s land development code<\/li>\n<li>Growing the working age population by 41,000<\/li>\n<li>Expanding business involvement with the JCPS Academies of Louisville<\/li>\n<li>Graduating 70 businesses from GLI\u2019s Power to Prosper Business Accelerator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cBy 2030, we want our region to have more jobs, people, and opportunities than ever before. Prosper 2030 is a transformational initiative for regional economic growth that focuses on four key areas to create a future where Greater Louisville leads the way in innovation, opportunity, and prosperity,\u201d said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to setting the region up for growth over the next several decades, a study by the University of Louisville College of Business estimates that when the plan is fully funded and actualized, it will create $6.8 billion in economic impact.<\/p>\n<p>Through a rigorous feedback process, GLI investors and partners recommended a continued focus on regional economic development, advocacy, economic inclusion, and talent attraction, and also recommended addressing public safety concerns and collaborating with partners to spur downtown development. Peer regions who are seeing these kinds of results have substantial investment from the private sector,\u201d said Camilla Schroeder, president of Advance Ready Mix Concrete and Chair of GLI\u2019s Board of Directors. \u201cI am optimistic that Prosper 2030 will lay the groundwork to help Greater Louisville compete on an international scale for many decades to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To date, GLI has raised over $2.4 million to fund the core initiatives of the plan out of a $4 million goal through a silent fundraising campaign.
