As I embark on this new adventure of serving as your NAWBO Louisville President, I am humbled and honored
to accept this task. I will be following in the footsteps of many great women, including our Immediate Past President, Maggie Harlow, Sign-A-Rama Downtown & Franchise Mart Louisville, who have blazed a wide trail for us to follow.I am excited about what the next two years have in store for our Chapter. There are so many possibilities on the horizon, ready for us to take advantage of them. In the coming months, you will see lots of new things that will help to propel NAWBO Louisville to the next level. With our new Board of Directors, we plan to work together to grow our Chapter to be the preeminent organization for women business owners in our region. The place where women come to learn how to start, grow and manage a business, network & engage with other women business owners and blaze their own trails in their business and in the community.
Over the next two years a few of the things we will be launching include:
- Launching the NAWBO Louisville Foundation - a 501c3 Charitable Non-Profit which will expand our ability to raise funds to allow us to offer more educational seminars and support for our members and the community
- Launching our 1st Annual Celebration of Entrepreneurship to celebrate all things entrepreneurial. The event will feature awards for a High School and College women business owner, a trade show, a national speaker and the first annual Betty Griffin Award, named after our founder and honoring a NAWBO member that has gone above and beyond for the chapter and the community
- New membership options, educational opportunities and web site features
We welcome you to join us and reap all the benefits that NAWBO has to offer. We have lots of opportunities to become engaged - from Committees to Masterminds to Minerva to networking at our many meetings and seminars. The more you participate, the more you will gain.
I encourage you to GET INVOLVED and help us blaze a new trail for future women business owners to follow.
